Love: Something's Wrong With It

HELLO, HUMANITY? ARE YOU THERE?
CALLING ALL HUMANS!
HOW CAN WE NOT SEE THIS AS CRY FOR HELP?

Police officers move into and through their days with FEAR that they *might* DIE that day.

Black people move into and through their days with FEAR that they *might* DIE that day.

FEAR THAT THEY, OUR PEOPLE, MIGHT DIE THAT DAY.

WE'RE SAYING THE SAME THING
EXPRESSED IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE
AND ISN'T THAT WHY WE "LOVE" THIS COUNTRY?
DAMN MELTING POT COULDN'T WARM OUR HEARTS ENOUGH TO BRING US TOGETHER.
ALL THESE WARS.
AND YOU BUY INTO THE SEPARATION AND PLACE YOUR FENCE AROUND YOUR HOUSE AND GUARD IT FROM YOUR COMMUNITY.
FOCUSED ON YOUR HOUSE AND YOUR THINGS WHEN THE NEIGHBOR NEXT DOOR IS LOSING EVERYTHING.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH US HUMANS?

WAKE UP.
VIOLENCE IS THE PROBLEM.
GUNS. IMPATIENCE. LACK OF TRUTH IN OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM. HELL, ALL SYSTEMS. LACK OF COMPASSION. A RUSH TO PROVE AND BE PROUD. NO ONE WANTS TO LISTEN ANYMORE BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHAT IT COMES DOWN TO:

EVERYONE IS CRYING OUT FOR HELP.
FOR UNDERSTANDING.
FOR REUNION.

Not just black and white
but MEN AND WOMEN

THERE IS A DIVIDE WE EXPERIENCE
WE'VE DRAWN TOO MANY LINES
WE'VE CREATED TOO MUCH SEPARATION
WE'VE TORN OUR HEARTS APART

IT'S TIME TO HEAL
IT'S TIME TO DO BETTER
WE CAN DO BETTER

EVERYONE IS CRYING OUT FOR HELP

How can we not see this?

I place my hands in neutral
I'm sorry that they abuse ya
I pray for the sky to break
For you to escape into a new one
As to raise my flags while the soldiers load their mags
We need to stop the crys of the orphan callin for her dad
Lets clean the slate, its never too late

You're leaving nothing for the youth
Just the proof, of destruction

The doctors give the pills
But the pills don't have the will
To take the pain out of the brain
They just make the brain insane
And still they distribute the poison
It kills to create the voices
Remember we finally silenced all of the violent noises
So oh now, the source needs to be found

Violence is bringing us down
Its bringin us six feet under ground
But we think we're alive and breathing
When we're talking we're actually screaming
Whenever we make a change, things need to be rearranged
I don't want to live the rest of my life hiding in shame
And can you see the child's eyes, are you really that blind?
